Soon, the fall showers we’re seeing this week will turn to winter rain.  Before the rains come, I’m hoping to  help install a drainline behind the lodge at Many Hands Community but need others to join me.  A workpary of 6 or 7 people could lay the drainline in one day.  The drainline will capture the water that currently sheets off the hillside and flows through the lodge site during the winter and will divert it to the creek south of the lodge.  We will also have a bunch of students from the Network Charter school joining us on their Community Service day activities... Good chance to get to know each other...

We’ll spend the day
    final grading the trench
    moving the rock into the trench
    laying the drainline
    covering the drainline with rock

There’s poison oak growing near the drainage trench so you might want to wear boots, long pants and a long sleeve shirt.

Bring a shovel if you have one to bring.
